Job description
Solution Architect
The role of the Solution Architect is crucial in the design and implementation process of IT architecture. Indeed, they are responsible for defining the target architecture of the solution in perfect alignment with the functional, technical, and security requirements imposed.
Main Activities
The primary task of the Solution Architect is to rigorously translate functional and non-functional requirements into a comprehensive application architecture.
They meticulously ensure that the proposed solution fully meets all requirements while maintaining structural coherence.
Taking into account security, performance, and resilience constraints, they ensure interoperability with existing systems.
Producing high-quality architecture diagrams and documents (TAD) is an integral part of their responsibilities.
Advising on technological choices and actively contributing to the Make, Buy, or Hybrid analysis are essential aspects of their expertise.
They actively participate in describing the prototype or Proof of Concept (PoC) to validate the feasibility of the proposed solutions.
Contributing to drafting the specifications for the solution's implementation is a crucial step in their project involvement.
Deliverables
The Technical Architecture Document (TAD) of the solution, detailing the overview, components, interfaces, and interactions of the solution, is an essential deliverable.
Architecture Diagrams, composed of visual models including high-level diagrams, data flow diagrams, and component models, are valuable tools for understanding and communication.
Detailed technical specifications outlining technical requirements, technological choices, and standards to be followed are fundamental elements for the successful implementation of the solution.
Defining security controls, access management, and compliance is a critical step to ensure the system's robustness and reliability.
The Deployment Architecture, defining the plan for the physical or cloud infrastructure, is a strategic deliverable for the solution's production implementation.
As a co-contributor to the technical section of the specifications, the Solution Architect provides expertise to ensure the feasibility and quality of the implementation.
Documenting recommendations following the Make, Buy, or Hybrid analysis is a key step in guiding the project's strategic decisions.
Risk assessment, with the identification and mitigation of technical risks, is a proactive approach to ensure the system's sustainability.
The Progress Report on activities allows for precise monitoring of the project's evolution and adjustment of actions accordingly.
