Application system engineer - UNIX

For one of our clients, a bank located in Luxembourg City, we are looking for an Application System Engineer UNIX.

You will work in a UNIX team managing:

• 470 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, 8, and 9 machines, 95% of which are virtualized and host critical applications for our users.

• Power servers running AIX 7 using PowerVM/VIO (NPIV, SEA) with around 100 partitions managed under NIM hosting critical applications and databases (Oracle, Websphere Application Server, Swift, etc.).

• Openshift clusters hosting critical applications.

• Open storage world arrays (Windows/Linux).

• The entire Commvault backup infrastructure (software and hardware).

The projects this person should have skills in are:

• Primarily participating in various banking projects involving the installation and implementation of banking applications, web or non-web, as well as version or platform migrations.

• Involvement in system work: filesystem expansion, OS patching, upgrades on AIX, RHEL, or application upgrades, installation of third-party tools, script writing, backup implementation, Nagios monitoring configuration, daily system maintenance, system security, maintenance of banking or middleware applications, etc.

Your profile:

• Real experience, versatility, good overall autonomy, and work rigor (testing, change management, production deployment, and documentation).

• The consultant must be well aware of the environment in which they operate: critical financial sector, high SLAs, quality of service to users.

• The consultant must be able to carry out their technical project by performing analysis, AIX LPAR or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) machine installations, application installation, testing, production deployment or migration, documentation, monitoring, security, etc...

• Advanced knowledge of AIX and RHEL operating systems.

• Adherence to administrative procedures and the existing organization is essential (regular reporting, electronic requests to other teams, compliance with schedules, etc.).

• Knowledge of security best practices (OS and application hardening, changing standard passwords).

• Proficiency in French is essential for meeting participation, document writing and reading.
