Functional Tester (Ref: 306)

For one of our public sector clients in Luxembourg, we are looking for a functional tester.

The expected services are as follows:

Functional tests

• Execute manual tests according to defined scenarios with the team.

• Contribute to post-fix verifications (retests).

• Document and report test results.

Improvement of test coverage

• Perform exploratory tests based on functional analysis documents.

• Critically review the application and identify inconsistencies or anomalies.

Handling business feedback

• Understand and formalize feedback expressed during training sessions and user tests.

• Ensure follow-up and verification of associated fixes.

Support to the existing team

• Verify tests before delivery.

• Check the level of test coverage.

• Propose ticket prioritization.

Contribution to test strategy development

• Participate in defining test scenarios.

• Contribute to testing models of documents generated by the application.

• Contribute to critical test automation efforts (identify test cases to automate, capture user actions in dedicated tool, replay scenarios, generate and analyze execution reports)

Profile

• Demonstrated ability to quickly integrate into a project context, and quickly acquire new skills

• Ability to challenge the status quo and make recommendations based on best practices

• Problem identification and solution proposal ability, ability to intervene on critical issues quickly.

• Curiosity. Collaborative, analytical, and synthetic mindset. Adaptability and ability to work in a team and independently. Good communication skills and deliverable documentation

• Knowledge of the public sector and/or national or international administrations

• Proficiency in French.

Methodological and technical skills

• Experience in functional testing (exploratory, regression, fix validation)

• Ability to design complete test cases and scenarios from MOA documents.

• Experience in post-fix re-tests and final qualification before delivery.

• Mastery of the JIRA environment, knowledge of X-Ray.

• Basic SQL query mastery for data verification or problem understanding

• Knowledge of automation tools such as Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium.

• Knowledge of project management repository HERMES and/or QUAPITAL IT

• Knowledge of modeling tools (BPMN, UML, or equivalent)

• Knowledge of Agile principles

Functional skills

• Understanding of business processes and ability to navigate a complex business application.

• Ability to quickly analyze functional specifications and business flows.

• Critical thinking to detect inconsistencies, impacts, edge cases, omissions, risks.
